- About the artwork – Made as part of a small series of ‘Winshill’ studies (the other notable pieces being ‘Berry Hedge Lane 2’ and ‘Hollow Lane’, this artwork emerged from sketches created on location in the Burton suburb. The interplay of warm light and shadows was striking as it illuminated the side of one of the old terrace houses. I was drawn to this view as it leads upward toward the church tower. Notably, this piece is featured in my summer exhibition, ‘The Burton Series,’ scheduled for 2024.
