Jamaica

Artworks made whilst in Jamaica making the winners film for SkyArts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2017.Some were made on location in the Caribbean, being filming whilst making the prepatory drawings and building the paintings up through layers. This proved to be a challenge, not just because of the heat and humidity, but also because of the stop start nature of filming.

Each piece aims to capture the vibrant spirit of the island, reflecting the lush landscapes and the rich cultural heritage that inspired them. The interplay of light and shadow across the canvas echoes the dynamic beauty of Jamaica, inviting viewers to experience the warmth and vibrancy of the Caribbean through my eyes.
