This course is a must if you have always wanted to try oil painting but don’t know where to start. It would also be great for anyone who wants to move away from realism and develop a more expressive style.
Over the two days you will build up knowledge and skills, including: learning about the basics of using oils, how to prepare and prime surfaces, using a palette and mixing and applying colours.
We will explore which brushes to use for different effects and how to draw and build up work using underpainting. We will also investigate the use of different tools, discovering how they can enhance and develop our artistic practice into new and exciting outcomes with the support of sketchbook work.
You will gain confidence and pick up tips in a supportive and relaxed environment, surrounded by Bullclough’s wonderful countryside.
