- About the artwork – This artwork was created during a workshop I taught in Enniskerry, near Dublin, Ireland, in the autumn of 2019. It is a plein air study based on various sketches made on location. The challenge was balancing the demands of teaching with creating a painting that showcased the key elements of my practice. Since I often work on multiple studies simultaneously, this is the only one I completed to a finished state later in the studio. I believe it effectively captures the low light of an autumn day, with the church spire in the distance and the subtle seasonal colors in the foreground.
