- About the artwork – In my artistic exploration, I’ve frequently revisited Coit Tower as a subject. Perched atop Telegraph Hill, it commands attention from various vantage points across San Francisco, making it a popular landmark that integrates into my compositions. My fascination with Coit Tower deepened during my research into mid-20th-century American painting. Inside the tower, a captivating array of fresco murals—crafted by 25 different artists—adorns the walls in the American Social Realism style. Inspired by this vibrant part of the city, I engaged in extensive sketching and note-taking, which ultimately formed the foundation for several San Francisco series artworks. It forms part of a series of artworks that I have done based on this subject matter over recent years.
