- About the artwork – This artwork is part of an ongoing series of studio interiors. This study was taken from a series of drawings made inside the Tithe Barn, one of many ancient buildings at the centre of Repton School in Derbyshire. The interior depicts elements of tables and chairs that echo its use for examinations, and through the door, the viewer is taken out into the warm summer sunlight where the entrance to the library and Pears school are located. This composition is similar to many interior artworks that have been heavily influenced by lots of drawing studies made from other interiors and works from Richard Diebenkorn and Edward Hopper in particular.
