- About the artwork – This artwork is part of an ongoing series of studio and gallery interiors, inspired by numerous studies made during the COVID-19 lockdown. During this period, I created a substantial number of studio studies to explore and develop my artistic process. These works are heavily influenced by the interiors and drawings of Richard Diebenkorn and Edward Hopper.I often feature a focal point in my compositions—typically a easel, or in this case a stool from my studio. I did several versions using this ‘prop’, most notably ‘Studio Interior with Stool’, but not all made it to finished studies.
