- About the artwork – Taken from a series and colour studies made around my local area in Derbyshire- this piece depicts the view towards the village of Repton across the Trent Valley towards the North and the Derbyshire dales. Unusually for me, colours are more muted here. A bright day is often preferred for good light and shadows, but here I aimed to explore a different kind of atmosphere, made from a overcast day but still featuring elements of perspective and depth.
