- About the artwork – This composition was taken from sketches made around the Upper East side of Manhattan, near the Queensboro Bridge and along York Street. I was drawn here to the long composition that leads the eye along the street, contrasting with the trees in the foreground and the imposing structure of the bridge which is just suggested at the top.
