- About the artwork – This composition is part of a local series of works made in South Derbyshire, where I made many drawings on local walks with a mix of urban and rural suggested landscapes and links back to some old studies that I did in 2009. This location is part way between my home and the studio and was made from sketches done in early spring, reminding me very much of when I visited the Ukraine in 2016/17 with the sunflowers instead being replaced by young rapeseed.
