- About the artwork – This artwork is part of a small series of works with views towards to Chrysler Building in the early evening as its subject, taken from sketches taken in New York in the summer of 2022. This iconic building is a popular theme for artists and it certainly stands out as I made my way towards it I did several quick studies based on the cast of light and how the shadows intersected across the streets. The pop of colour coming from the US flag that hangs outside of the building on the left hand side adds a subtle nod to the location, as does the red brick of the cities apartment blocks.
