2014 – 2018

‘The Journey’, or ‘In Transit’- is an ongoing series of artworks that have developed since completing my Masters in 2014.  Influenced by artists such as Richard Diebenkorn, Edward Hopper, Ben Aronson and my own tutor June Forster- it is whilst creating these artworks that a certain semi-abstract style really began to develop.

This series of work has continued to develop more recently- with my success on the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2017 TV show I was able to produce a whole new body of work influenced from my experiences in Scotland, and Jamaica. Since then I have really explored lots of different themes and locations. I am continuing to exlplore this process whilst travelling through Canada, the US, Fiji and New Zealand where I am completing various art residencies and building up a new body of work- In Transit 2.

Although some images are only small, they do reflect a sense of energy and spontaneity through the use of brushwork and mark making that has since become vital to the success of my work. Whether it be interiors, railway stations, underpasses or studio studies- the same thing applies to each an every image that continues to for each and every painting- structure, painterly marks- a sense of place.

If you are interested in any of my artworks then they are available to buy in all sizes and prices. Please use the contact email at the top to reach me for any additional information.
