Leicester Line bridge

Last week I was delighted to have sold a print of one of my old painting mixed media studies of ‘Leicester Line Bridge’, from 2012/13. At this time I was exploring a variety of different monotone techniques influenced by artist Pete Monaghan who I was completing an MA at the same time as me at Aberystwyth School of Art.

It feels like along way from where my work is now, but it still continues to constantly evolve. This period was vital to my development as a painter. What I enjoyed about working in this way is that the image is fundamentally tied to drawing, structure and composition. These are elements that continue to be vital for me today.
